How It Works

Rule of Play for 50/50 Electronic Raffle - License #12047

  1. Junior Achievement of South Western Ontario will be running three (3) lotteries. The first lottery will take place from July 27, 2020 at 10:00AM EST to August 24, 2020 at 12:00PM EST. The second lottery will run from October 5, 2020 at 10:00AM EST to November 2, 2020 at 12:00PM EST. The third lottery will run from May 10, 2021 at 10:00AM EST to June 7, 2021 at 12:00PM EST.
  2. All tickets will only be sold to people who are 18 years of age or older.
  3. Tickets are priced at 1 ticket for $10, 20 tickets for $20, and 101 tickets for $50.
  4. Tickets will be available at all events held throughout the building at the 60 William Street South, Chatham ON.
  5. Tickets will be sold using electronic raffle system supplied by Ascend Fundraising Solutions.
  6. After buying, patrons will be given by the sellers, a receipt with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.
  7. The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all raffle numbers sold for the draw.
  8. The amount of the 50/50 will be located at www.JA5050.ca.
  9. The winning number will be announced live through our social media platforms. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jaswontario and Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ja_swo/.
  10. The winner may claim their prize by contacting Junior Achievement South Western Ontario at: (519) 352-0151, or by email at: info@jaswo.org. The ticket may then be brought to the Junior Achievement South Western Ontario building (60 William Street South, Chatham ON) at an agreed upon time for ticket verification. The winner will then be paid by cheque for the amount posted at the event for which they bought their ticket. Winners must have the original winning ticket and no copies. All payments will be made by cheque.
  11. The winning ticket holder has 6 months in which to claim their prize from the date of the draw their ticket was purchase for.
  12. The winner must provide his/her name, address and phone number with picture identification for our report sheet.
  13. Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is, at minimum, 50% of the total sales for that game. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.
  14. If no winner comes forward the number will be announced repeatedly over social media, and posted on the raffle website located at: www.JA5050.ca.
  15. In the event that no winner comes forward, the winning stub will kept in a safety deposit box and held for 6 months. After that time period has elapsed the prize will be donated to a charity other than Junior Achievement South Western Ontario, with the approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
  16. The following individuals are not eligible to participate in the 50/50 draws: No member, principal officer or paid staff of an applicant organization may be involved, in any way, in the approval of a licence application and/or the conduct and management of a licensed event. No person assisting in the conduct and management of a lottery event may have any monetary interest in any card, ticket or bet, or have a chance to win a lottery prize in any way. No designated member responsible for the conduct of the licensed lottery, or volunteers assisting with the lottery, may have any direct or indirect personal financial interest in the funds raised.
  17. The above set of rules will be posted at each event.
